Our maps are made from beautiful birch plywood. Natural variances in the wood grain ensure a unique work of art. Once the map is cut, it is hand sanded multiple times, mounted on a blue board to highlight the water, and given a clear coat for a lustrous wood shine. The name “Point Lobos” is derived from what the Spanish explorers called this area - “Punta de los Lobos Marinos" which means the "point of the sea wolves”.

One of the main attractions of Point Lobos are the Sea Otters whose high metabolism is fueled by consuming 25% of their body weight daily

Point Lobos is one of only two places where the Monterey Cypress can be found in the wild.
